October Update New Domain

Alright so this is another quick update, which ashamedly comes again after another domain name purchase. Unlike last time, it's nothing nefarious, just some fun, mostly because i wanted one of those short 2-letter domain names, except those are hard to find and the ones that make sense are obviously taken.

I'm also really mad that CIRA, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority stopped accepting the registration of provincial or muinicipal domain names in 2010 because apparently it was complex to manage (they're lazy and retarded) and had low interest (cira is fucking expensive and retarded) So now I cant get anything cool like sam.on.ca. ....well i think it would've been a great domain.

Ok well anyway if you read the previous blog post back in May, and have been since then waiting listlessly for me to update you on all that I've done since then, well today is a blessed day for you. Because I will exhaustively list all that I have added or changed to this site in the following bullet points:

• created fediverse presence using akkoma server visitable at kinryouku.tenshi.zip and it's been pretty interesting seeing that side of the web

• main tenshi.zip site is still very barebones, a little broken and not at all how i had wanted it in the last post

• tenshi.zip was "meant to" (read: me trying to justify useless purchase) serve as the domain to host my pomf clone, link shortener, etc. but im not gonna do that cuz it never really seemed right.

  • My new domain name, fdn.sh, will take on those tasks, as a much shorter url it is much better suited to these things

    obviously thats all bullshit and the length of the url doesnt actually matter, but it wont sit right with me until the url is short enough. and again think of the possibilities!

    i can use this domain for pomf (up.fdn.sh), snapdrop (shr.fdn.sh), linkding (lnk.fdn.sh), url shortener can use 2nd level, i can serve more illicit content on here like weirder movies separate from my normal plex server, a booru site for tag-based navigation of images/videos, an imageboard (wakara) (each board (even though they will obviously be DOA) can have its own subdomain (y.fdn.sh)

• no news on guestbook...

• no news on email............ actually email is dead im pretty sure

honestly, i wouldn't mind it if this eventually became my main site, even if the name doesn't speak to me so strongly i prefer it right now over isinthe.icu, cuz its just a little cumbersome. and i have a couple other domains that i don't think i've shared yet but that's because they're not ready. so stay tuned!
